We have this little stall thing at our local shopping centre every year where you can give a gift to a little one. I always try to do this. I think It’s important that each child knows they’re special. It doesn’t even have to be a gift. It can be a message, a hug, just something so they know they’re being thought of.

Favourite Gift Received As A Child? 

That’s easy. Teddy Ruxpin. He was a talking bear. His mouth moved, his eyes opened and closed, the whole shaaabang!  Way back when, that was THE gift to have. I loved him.

 Hardest Person to Buy For?

My Dad. Or my OH. I try and move away from the socks and boxer shorts every year but it’s just so hard. Men are difficult.

Christmas Eve is by far my favourite part. I have a young daughter who still believes in Christmas. So the night before Christmas, we place food out on a plate for Santa and his reindeers! My daughter is allowed to open one present before bed. We bake, we play family games and deliver presents to local friends. It always feels magical.

Do You Have Any Christmas Traditions?

Yes, every year my brother-in-law and I cook Christmas dinner for the whole family at my mother-in-law’s house! We always crack open a bottle of champagne while cooking dinner. I always cook the dessert for Christmas day too. After dinner, we play traditional games for the rest of the afternoon.

Roasted parsnips and shallots. I just love them.
